SEKISUI’s first appearance at the IAA, the world’s most important mobility event, was a full success. From September 10 to 22, SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. presented new products for the European automotive industry from its R&D centers and different European companies. Color Carbon and Luminous interlayer films from SEKISUI S-LEC or thermal-management solutions for lithium-ion batteries from SEKISUI POLYMATECH as well as other automotive components were built into a futuristic concept car, which was presented to the European audience for the first time.

European Environmental Managers Meeting 2019

At the beginning of February, the time had come again: The QESH manager of all SEKISUI companies met to talk about current environment activities in Europe and learn about the current environmental plans and how to implement them from Japanese colleagues. This year, the event was hosted by SEKISUI Diagnostics in the UK. Together with the Environmental Management Group the company prepared an interesting and diverse two-day program at their site in Kent.

Hispania FC wins the trophy in a thrilling penalty shoot-out

From October 5th to October 7th, the time had finally come: the third SEKISUI European Football Tournament was held in Salou, Spain. This year’s edition was once again marked by great team spirit but also fierce competition. Nevertheless, the Spanish team managed to defend its title against the Dutch Team Mepke. The players had to wait until the penalty shoot-out to cheer though.

The Paris Agreement by UNCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) marks a new course in the global climate effort: For the first time ever, all nations were brought into a common cause to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects. The Science Based Targets (“SBT”) Initiative is a collaborative effort between various environmental organizations to recognize the companies making efforts to counteract climate change.
