Sekisui Specialty Chemicals escapes from Fiscal Year 2017 at Annual Commercial Conference

On May 23-25th Sekisui Specialty Chemicals held its annual Global Commercial Conference in Frisco, Texas.  Representatives from key departments such as finance, sales, marketing, legal, supply chain, compliance, and HR came together from all over the world to discuss 2017 accomplishments and the upcoming goals for 2018.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals holds its global conference once a year, rotating locations among its office sites. The meeting is an anchor for the company, giving employees from across the globe an opportunity to meet face to face, build deeper relationships, and better coordinate efforts in the upcoming year.

Delegates representing the newly acquired “BCD brands” Durastream CPVC compound, Advancell expandable foam cells, and S-Lec BK PVB resin gave presentations updating company members on product features, major customers, and 2018 goals. The head of Specialty Chemicals Division, Toshio Konno, held a presentation on FUSION and SEKISUI High Performance Plastics Company’s goals through 2019. Ian Moran, President of SEKISUI America Corporation, also gave a presentation on the goals of the organization, resources available to North American subsidiaries, and the action plan to support FUSION goals through 2019.

On the second day of the conference, attendees participated in a group bonding event: an escape room experience. Attendees were split in five groups and assigned to a themed escape room. To win the challenge and escape from the room, the group would need to work together to decipher clues before time expired. While only one of the five teams successfully solved the clues before time ran out, the group consensus was that there were many lessons learned about teamwork, thinking outside the box, and problem solving.

Based on the promising start on this year’s goals and the excitement generated by the global conference, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals is planning a very productive Fiscal Year 2018.
