Greenest Person Award: Bart “Forest” Scheepers ranked second

The vote is over – and the participation was quite impressive. Over 10.000 votes of SEKISUI employees worldwide determined the winners of the Greenest Person (2016) Award. One of the eight nominees in total was Bart Scheepers from SEKISUI S-Lec in Roermond. He ranks second place in this year’s vote.

The Greenest Person Award is presented to SEKISUI employees from all around the world since 2012. It honours outstanding environmental engagement and volunteering activities on a yearly basis. The voting for the award took place from 15th November to 31st December 2016. We are pleased to announce that our very own Bart “Forest” Scheepers is awarded with the second place this year!

Bart, who is working in the Quality Assurance department of SEKISUI S-Lec in Roermond, wins the prize for his distinctive environmental awareness in general and for his environmental activities in the family forest in particular. Together with his 3-years old son Loek he contributes to the forest’s sustainability by planting new young oak trees for example. If you are interested in further activities please read the following article, which gives a broad insight into the daily life of Bart’s family.

The prize is endowed with JPY 70.000 (around 500 Euro). It was handed to Bart on March 9 by Yoshio Aoshima, Managing Director of SEKISUI S-Lec, during an internal event in Roermond

The first place goes to Pisan Vorrapatsorn from SEKSUI S-Lec, Thailand. He keeps worms in a basin at home, which can be used as fertilizer for trees. Masahiro Taira from SEKISUI Seikei, Takino Plant, is in third place. He promotes greening by cultivating and distributing seeds and seedlings. Moreover, special prizes are awarded for a variety of activities like Local Community Engagement, Fresh Ideas or Outdoor Activity Promotion.
