SEKISUI S-Lec, manufacturer of interlayer films for laminated glass, was represented as exhibitor at the world’s leading trade fair for the glass industry from 20th to 23th September in Düsseldorf, Germany.
With more than 43,000 visitors from all over the world, glasstec 2016 offers ideal conditions for product presentations of high-quality glass interlayer technology. SEKISUI S-Lec specializes in the manufacture of interlayer film based on PVB resin for all glass applications used for example in cars and buildings. To ensure the safety of passengers, the use of laminated glass in the windshield of a vehicle is obliged by law. In case of an accident, the laminated glass ensures, that glass fragments remain stuck to the film and thus contributes to the prevention of injuries.
At glasstec 2016, SEKISUI S-Lec exhibited the entire product portfolio of interlayer film for laminated glass. Not only the European company will be represented, but also all members of the interlayer film division. The presentation of the new luminous PVB film was one special highlight. Contrary to normal head-up displays, the luminous PVB film for laminated glass developed by SEKISUI S-Lec allows display options on the entire windshield. The current HUD system can display information like speed and vehicle lane onto limited parts of the windshield. In the future, materials that can display more information will be requested from the market and this luminous PVB can meet this requirement. After the first product presentation in Tokyo in December last year, the European premiere was at glasstec 2016 in September.
