The “World Children’s Eco Summit 2017”

Following 2007 and 2012, SEKISUI organises the next World Children’s Eco Summit in Japan. From 31st July until 7th August, 47 children between 13 and 16 years from around the world are invited to participate in environmental exchanges and activities.

Purpose of the event:

(1) To promote children’s growth by thinking about what we can do for the future based on the theme of “environment”

(2) Create relationships as part of a global initiative in order to prepare for the future (next generation) as well as to create interest and enhancing awareness among stakeholders.

Outline:

The event will consist of three parts: “Learn”, “Think” and “Declare”. Through conducting guided tours of group business facilities, implementing education programs and conducting Group discussions, the children will conceive and state the contributions they each can make to improve social issues.

Participants:

47 children (between 13 to 16 years old) of group employees from around the world

Participating nation:

Japan, China, North America, Europe and ASEAN

Held from:

July 31 (Monday) ~ August 7 (Monday) 8 days

SEKISUI Diagnostics UK rethinks environmental activities

A new approach to environmental activities was made by SEKISUI Diagnostics in Kent, England. Instead of offering a single day, a whole week was planned to cover various topics around environmental awareness. It also allowed all SEKISUI Diagnostics (UK) co-workers to participate, taking individual availability due to shifts into account. The result: high participation among deeply invested SEKISUI Diagnostics (UK) colleagues, to the benefit of a local charity.
