On March 3, 2017, SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. celebrated its 70th anniversary and reached an important milestone. President Teiji Koge addresses all members of the SEKISUI Chemical Group in a personal message.
Reaching this important milestone was made possible due to the support of our stakeholders, the efforts of our predecessors and the efforts of all employees in the SEKISUI Chemical Group. For this support and effort, I would like to humbly extend my profound respect and gratitude. Furthermore, I am delighted and proud to celebrate this day together with all employees.
70 years ago, on March 3, 1947, SEKISUI was established with the aim of being a comprehensive plastics business. This was a new and innovative material in Japan at that time. Since then, we have expanded our business by providing products which meet our daily needs, such as tape and PVC buckets, materials that support government and private sector infrastructure such as pipes and guttering, high-performance materials for electronics and vehicles, and detached houses.
Over the years, many obstacles have stood in our way, but each time we have united together and paved the way to a new era of development for SEKISUI Chemical Group. We have been able to overcome these obstacles and challenges based on our belief in the company philosophy of the “3S spirit” (Service, Speed, and Superiority).
Our group vision reflects what we want for our future. To let all of our 24,000 employees worldwide unite together and combine our power to contribute to improving people’s lives and the global environment by continuing to develop the frontiers of “creation of housing / social infrastructure” and “chemical solutions” through our prominent technology and quality. Furthermore, we want to be trusted by all of society and continue to take on challenges in order to maintain our strong corporate presence for 100 years and beyond.
Now, we open the door to the challenges of the future. Let’s take a strong and powerful first step together. Let’s make our future an excellent one.
Thank you very much.
