At the beginning of September, the SEKISUI European Football Tournament 2019 will take place for the fourth time! Again, many different countries from Europe are represented, with new and familiar faces. It’ s about time to introduce the nine participating teams.
As a group of companies, SEKISUI in Europe provides a vast array of innovative products and services, engages around 1,000 diverse employees and combines the strength of various great companies. One of these companies is SEKISUI Alveo – with its CEO Eiji Tateo. We met him for a personal interview to talk about the daily business as well as the cooperation amongst SEKISUI companies in Europe.
Pascal Meyer has always been engaged in biodiversity and environmental issues. When moving into a new house with his family, they decided to turn the rather simple garden into a biodiverse paradise for humans and animals. This creation of a “natural garden” has now been awarded with the SEKISUI Greenest Person Fresh Idea Award.

At the beginning of February, the time had come again: The QESH manager of all SEKISUI companies met to talk about current environment activities in Europe and learn about the current environmental plans and how to implement them from Japanese colleagues. This year, the event was hosted by SEKISUI Diagnostics in the UK. Together with the Environmental Management Group the company prepared an interesting and diverse two-day program at their site in Kent.
Giving a special gift for Christmas. This is what Xavier In de Braek wanted to do this year. As the winner of this year’s SEKISUI European Football Tournament Bet he was able to do just that. On November 29th he handed over a check of € 430 to his chosen organization “Spieren voor Spieren”.
Innovative projects aiming at the continuous improvement of SEKISUI. This is the focus of KAIZEN. On November 21st, representatives from different European companies met in Tarragona, Spain, and competed against each other at the 8th European KAIZEN convention. Successfully hosted by SEKISUI Specialty Chemicals, the event allowed eight European teams to present their improvement activities to reinforce company structure and business performance.
