“Everything is better than I expected!” Alexander Howard Horgan started working at SEKISUI headquarters
Last year, SEKISUI headquarters were looking for a graduate to work as English Business Coordinator in Tokyo. Alexander Howard Horgan from England was finally chosen to join the Human Resources Department and the team of Miriam Stadje from Germany. In the future, he will be responsible to promote SEKISUI’s global business by developing the English communication skills of the employees in Japan. European Environmental Managers Meeting 2019
At the beginning of February, the time had come again: The QESH manager of all SEKISUI companies met to talk about current environment activities in Europe and learn about the current environmental plans and how to implement them from Japanese colleagues. This year, the event was hosted by SEKISUI Diagnostics in the UK. The Global KAIZEN Convention 2019
For the 53rd time, the Global KAIZEN Convention took place in Kyoto, Japan. At the end of January, representatives from all over the world met and presented their KAIZEN project. Among them: Pedro Soler from SEKISUI Specialty Chemicals, who won the European KAIZEN Convention in 2018.
Intercultural Communication at SEKISUI
Interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds is an important part of everyday working life – especially when being employed in a global company like SEKISUI. Not only language skills but also habits and behavior play a major role when meeting colleagues. Based on different communication styles encounters can often be complicated or cause a clash of different perceptions and expectations. In order to help employees from European companies to improve their intercultural competences, SEKISUI offered an intercultural communication workshop last week.
Ground-breaking ceremony for new SEKISUI POLYMATECH plant in Roermond
With the construction of a new production plant for thermal interface materials for environmentally friendly vehicles SEKISUI is expanding its business in Europe. The plant operations are planned to start in spring of 2020 – the construction was started with a ground-breaking ceremony on February 4th.
