The transfer of SEKISUI Alveo’s foam production lines from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales to its plant in Roermond, Netherlands has been completed successfully last week. The achievement of this milestone marks the end of a challenging period: the project included the relocation of complex machinery, the investment in a new building, and the recruiting and training of new operators.
The multi-million project is an invest in the future – in service of the customer. Eiji Tateo, Managing Director of SEKISUI Alveo, explains the strategy behind the relocation: “The decision to relocate production was based on a comprehensive business review we conducted in order to secure sustainable and profitable growth in an increasingly challenging market environment. The expansion of the Roermond plant gives us the economies of scale we need for more cost-efficient production and puts us in the position to invest further in the development of new applications and innovative new products. The ultimate goal is to continue serving our market with outstanding solutions for our customers.”
SEKISUI Alveo will present its extensive portfolio and a broad overview of the many application possibilities at the forthcoming Foam Expo Europe in Hannover. From October 16th to October 18th a team of experts will be present, ready to talk to visitors about their specific needs and help them to find optimal solutions.
