From October 2017 to February 2018, the Japanese SEKISUI Safety Group carried out safety audits at 6 European production sites in order to further improve the safety of European employees in the workplace.
At all six locations, the Japanese auditors, accompanied by several colleagues, exchanged information on safety issues with their European colleagues. The auditors listened carefully to the plant managers, heads of manufacturing departments and all persons, who are responsible for occupational health and safety and exchanged safety information with them.
Japanese auditors visited the UK, Spain and Germany
The first round of safety audits started at the beginning of October in 2017. First, the auditors visited the production sites of SEKISUI Diagnostics in Great Britain and Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe in Spain. After that, Kazumichi Matsuda, Yukihiro Nakamura and Katsuyoshi Yokomitsu from SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. went to SEKISUI Alveo in Germany. Ulrike Eymann and Markus Römer from SEKISUI Alveo accompanied them, showed them the production facilities in Bad Sobernheim and gave demonstrative insights into their production processes.
The safety audits continued in the Netherlands
The second round of safety audits took place in early 2018 in the Netherlands and started at SEKISUI Alveo in Roermond. As preparation, the auditors were provided with a series of safety sheets, reports and layout drawings of the machines and plants.
After their two-day stay at SEKSUI Alveo, the auditors visited the two other production sites in Roermond, which are SEKISUI S-Lec and SEKISUI Eslon. After the audits at S-Lec and Eslon, the Japanese guests went back to Japan and developed suggestions how to improve safety on the basis of their common experiences.
