Actor, fashion model and face of SEKISUI: Hiroshi Abe

Hiroshi Abe is one of Japans most popular actors. Within his career, which he started as a model, he played a vast number of roles and different characters. Beside his career as a movie and TV-Star he is SEKISUI’s most known testimonial and was featured in over 40 commercials of SEKISUI Heim within the last 14 years.

From the fashion to the film industry

Hiroshi Abe – born on 22nd of June 1964 in Kanogawa, Yokohama – is a popular Japanese actor. Before he started his career in the film industry in 1988, Hiroshi worked as a fashion model. Today he is mainly known for his playing roles in various Japanese movies, like “After the Storm” (2016), and TV Drama series for example “Sniffer” (2016).

Hiroshi’s special skills are “Japanese Traditional Martial Arts”, “Sword Fight” and “Equestrian”, which means all kind of sports where horses are the main part. From being a Yakuza boss to being a stay home dad – Hiroshi’s roles are as many-faced as his skills. Within his career he won several prizes e.g. the Toshiro Mifune Award in the category “Best Actor” at the Kyoto International Film and Art Festival.

Over 40 commercials in 14 years

Since 2003 Hiroshi was a part in over 40 commercials for SEKISUI Heim in which he can be recognised for wearing a black suit and a bowler hat for most of the time. Considering this background there was no question that he became one of the faces of SEKISUI by now and he is the right person for the SEKISUI 70th anniversary commercial. SEKISUI is looking forward to the next spot featuring Hiroshi Abe.
