On 14th March 2017, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe hosted a tour of their manufacturing facilities in Tarragona, Spain as a part of the European Cleaning Products Show.
A day before the conference in Barcelona began, 11 attendees were invited by SEKISUI to a production plant tour and a wine and olive oil tasting. Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe has been a prominent sponsor of the Cleaning Product shows worldwide since the launch of the Advasol Water Soluble Films in early 2016.
The brand is gaining recognition for its capability to package harsh chemicals used in industrial cleaning, pool serving or agricultural maintenance. The meeting hub for the cleaning products industry is held three times a year at rotating locations globally.
The day started with a bus ride from the metropolitan city of Barcelona to the small town of Tarragona one hour south. The first stop was the boutique hotel La Boella, where attendees had the opportunity to try regional olive oils like arbequina and arbosana, as well as first and second press red wines.
After this tasting, the group travelled to the Tarragona manufacturing facility where they were briefed on safety during the plant visit and the presentation of Advasol Water Soluble Films product. While the group enjoyed the facility itself and the knowledgeable tour guides, attendees were particularly impressed by the focus on safety throughout the plant processes. “The attendees enjoyed putting on the personal protective equipment. In the conference room, they took many selfies while wearing the SEKISUI safety hat and glasses”, said Neha Verma, Marketing Communications Manager from Sekisui Specialty Chemicals America, LLC.
After the tour, attendees were presented with a commemorative ceramic statue of Tarragona’s famous symbol of teamwork, the human tower. Several members of the SEKISUI plant are active members of human tower teams, and they shared the importance of this unique tradition with the visitors. Then the group went back to Barcelona by bus. The conference officially began that evening with a rooftop welcome reception hosted by the Advasol team.
